Abstract

This study explores the application of health behavior theory to improve awareness and promote vaccination among adolescents. Adolescents, a demographic often hesitant to receive vaccines, face significant challenges regarding vaccine acceptance. The study applies the Health Belief Model (HBM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to examine factors such as perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, and self-efficacy. A survey was conducted among 500 adolescents in urban and rural areas of Indonesia to assess their attitudes towards vaccination and the role of health education in increasing vaccine acceptance. The results show that the HBM and TPB frameworks are effective in explaining vaccination intention among adolescents. The study concludes that tailored health interventions focusing on educational campaigns and improving self-efficacy can significantly enhance vaccine uptake and contribute to public health goals.
