Analisis Dampak Penggunaan Obat Tradisional Terhadap Interaksi Obat Modern pada Pasien Lansia

The increasing use of traditional medicines among the elderly population has raised concerns about potential interactions with modern pharmaceuticals. This study analyzes the impact of traditional medicine use on drug-drug interactions in elderly patients who are typically prescribed medications for chronic conditions. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 200 elderly patients from various healthcare facilities. The study found that 52% of patients who used traditional medicine experienced adverse drug interactions when combined with modern pharmaceuticals. The most common interactions involved medications for hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. The study highlights the importance of integrating traditional medicine use into patient care plans and the need for healthcare professionals to be aware of potential interactions in order to prevent harm and improve therapeutic outcomes.
